Fulton Ravine South Park

Fulton Ravine South Park Donations

Construction on the Fulton Ravine South Park project is underway in 2021. The estimated cost for the park amenities is $550,000. As a non-profit, we rely on donations and grants to raise money, and the good news is that SECLA has already raised most of the needed funds, thanks to hard-working volunteers and caring residents.

We’re asking for a little more of your help if possible. Your donation will go straight to work helping ensure that we can include all the amenities that are planned for the park.

If you would like a tax receipt for donations of $20 or more, payment can be made cheque payable to “City of Edmonton” with “Fulton Ravine South Park and CP-9468” on the memo line. Contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to arrange for pickup of the cheque. Donations can also be mailed SECLA (PO Box 38025, RPO Capilano, Edmonton, Alberta T6A 3Y6). The attached form should also be filled out, and may be completed electronically and emailed, or printed for pickup with your donation.

Skate Park Survey Analysis

The park survey was conducted in 2016 to build awareness in the community regarding this project and to gather feedback. The purpose of this summary report is to share the feedback received regarding the type of park amenities to be included, and possibly to garner additional feedback to facilitate concept development.

Fulton Ravine South Park - April 2017 Update

We have lots of exciting news to report!

We are very happy to announce that we have received approval for a major grant, which will allow work to begin on the outstanding elements from the previous phase of park development – this is primarily the construction of a parking lot. We are excited that we can now work with the City in terms of final plans for construction of those outstanding elements, with on-site work likely to begin in early 2018.

And now that we have the funds for the outstanding elements, we can get into planning for other features to include as phase 2 of development!  As mentioned in previous updates, a community survey conducted in 2016 to ask local residents what features to include in this park. Survey results have been compiled and we have prepared a report that is available on our website for review or download.

We are still actively needing to fundraising for the park in order to move ahead with phase 2. While we do not have any fundraisers scheduled at this time, we are always looking for ideas and/ or people who would like to assist with this worthy cause.

We welcome donations of any amount. As mentioned previously, if you would like to make a donation to the park, donations over $20 are eligible for a tax receipt. You can contribute to this project through a personal or business donation. Cheques must be made payable to the City of Edmonton, and must reference the "Fulton Ravine South Park project"  or the "SECLA park project".

Cheques can be mailed to:

Fulton Ravine South Park - January 2017 Update

We have some interesting results from the survey conducted in 2016.  We are still in the process of analyzing the data but here are some of the results we have found so far. We have also provided a copy of the survey to show what questions were asked.  Respondents had the choice of checking off the items of interest, and/or they could also number the items in order of priority if they wished to do so. We had 151 surveys completed. This was a combination of online surveys, and surveys completed in person.  We had a variety of venues in which the in person surveys were conducted.  Respondents included a mix of current users of the park and those who have never been to the park, and a wide variety of ages.  In addition to the responses on the items that were presented, we had quite a number of additional suggestions for ideas for the park  Hope you find the results interesting!  Once we finish the analysis, more results will be posted here, so check back soon!  The intent is to share these results with the City, and see where we can go from there.

Fulton Ravine South Park - October 2016 Update

We conducted the park survey over the summer and through September, concluding on October 1st. We had lots of great feedback. Thanks to everyone who participated. The results will be reviewed and summarized over the month of October. We will share the results with the City and with the community.

We are going to hold some fundraising events over the winter to raise money to complete the parking lot which is part off the initial phase of park development (funds need to be in place for this before we can move on to other more interesting aspects of the park!) . If you have an idea for a fundraising event, or you'd like to help out, let us know.

There will be a fun improv night on Wed Nov 23 at L'Unitheatre (8627 91 St). It will be a full-length improvised show about skateboarding.  There will also be a silent auction. Tickets available at http://kickflip.eventbrite.ca

Fulton Ravine South Park - May 2016 Update

SECLA, in conjunction with the City of Edmonton, is developing plans for the second phase of park development near the skate park.

Our ideas for the second phase focus on Healthy Living in a Healthy Environment:

·         With protection of biodiversity through native plantings and low impact development practices

·         Plantings of edible trees and shrubs for the enjoyment of humans as well as birds and other creatures!

·         Design for both active living as well as passive enjoyment of the outdoors through benches, adult fitness equipment, and open green space.

Do these ideas interest you? Would you like to express your opinion, or become part of the project team? We want to hear from you - stay tuned for SURVEY coming soon!  For info, or to get involved, contact Connie Lussier by email: This email address is being protected from spambots.
